New TPE production line launched in Voronezh

Voronezhsintezkauchuk’s new TPE line has produced the first 3,000 t of polymers in test mode.

The facility is implementing a project to increase the production of thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) from 50 ktpa to 100 ktpa.

“Thermoplastic elastomers are polymers that can significantly improve product quality in road construction, roof coating, footwear production and other industries. The new capacities are set to meet demand in speciality segments, such as compounds and glues. In 2020, the Company will add five new TPE grades to its product portfolio – these are sought after in the footwear, automotive, and packaging industries, as well as in the production of household goods,” SIBUR's representatives commented.

The new TPE line came on-stream in Q1 2020, and the first profit from the investment project is expected in the same year. “The plant has manufactured the pilot batch of polymers and is proceeding with the homologation of the new grades. With the current TPE output, the total design capacity of Voronezhsintezkauchuk will increase to 135 ktpa,” the Company's representatives added.
