Automating procurement

SIBUR has fully automated purchases of electrical materials.

At SIBUR, it is now possible to purchase and receive fixation devices, electrical and cable materials, and cable fittings without holding tenders or auctions, obtaining technical approvals, or bringing in people from the Procurement Department or Business Support Centre.

The procurement procedure has been simplified through integrating SAP with the online store run by ETM (SIBUR’s strategic partner). Using SAP PM, a customer can go directly to the online store, select the required items and equipment (at SIBUR’s corporate discount) and add them to the cart. The data gets processed and then transmitted to SAP as a purchase order, with order and shipment statuses updated automatically.

The new system, which has eliminated manual input and significantly sped up delivery, was first successfully used at SIBUR’s Voronezh site (Voronezhsintezkauchuk) and is now available to all of the Company’s facilities.
