Daria Borisova, Member of the Management Board – Managing Director at SIBUR

Dear clients and partners,

SIBUR is a constantly evolving company. In recent years, digital manufacturing, a personalised offering, deeper conversion and a circular economy have become important themes for SIBUR, and all these focus areas also have an impact on our management culture. In recent years, digital manufacturing, a personalised offering, deeper conversion and the transition to a circular economy have become important themes for SIBUR, and all these focus areas also have an impact on our management culture. Tools that involve employees in change efforts and drive accountability are becoming increasingly important.

Over the past two decades, IT companies have become testing grounds for new industrial and employee management philosophy. SCRUM, Agile, Lean, Kanban and other project management methods provide additional non-financial incentives for employees and turn subordinates into business development partners. The transfer of modern management practices is another focus area for SIBUR.

Sprints are one of the more promising methods adopted by the Company to identify and develop new approaches, technologies and products. The new method used to refine ideas and technologies, products and concepts helps to foster a culture of innovation within the Company. Sprints involve employees from various functions and production sites, unlocking their potential and providing an impetus for professional growth. Most importantly, they build a culture of innovation within our organisation.

SIBUR has been expanding the range of sprint applications: for instance, we have started using this method to make demand forecasts and estimates for various market segments and develop offerings based on our product portfolio. Our sprints involve not only SIBUR employees, but also our partners and clients. This helps us to better understand customer needs and discover mutually beneficial opportunities. What sprints are and how this technique can be used is discussed in the Cover Story of the new issue of SIBUR for Clients.
