Sergey Komyshan, member of SIBUR’s Management Board and Executive Director, on the coronavirus pandemic and living and working in quarantine.

Dear partners and clients,

We are living in unprecedented times. The oil crisis and coronavirus outbreak have hit the industry hard, with the pandemic threatening the health and life of people worldwide. Most companies are suspending operations or allowing employees to work remotely during the quarantine. Unity, responsible action and mutual support have never been more important. Take care of yourself and your loved ones! Family is the most valuable thing we have, and the Company gives the health of our employees and their families the highest priority – especially today.

Despite the challenging circumstances, SIBUR is making every effort to fulfil all its obligations and meet the needs of its clients and partners. I know that our clients are taking the same approach in relation to their customers. We are all in this together.

As COVID-19 is tightening its grip, the health and safety of our employees and clients come to the fore, along with the need to deliver continuity of operations across all our business lines. To support healthcare workers who are giving their all to help the infected and protect other people, especially elders, it is important to take precautions both at work and in your personal life.

That is why, in addition to compliance with recommendations of Rospotrebnadzor and the WHO, we have made extra efforts to prevent the coronavirus from spreading in the Company’s production facilities and offices. We have cancelled all travel to all destinations, along with large-scale events and business meetings, during the period from 18 March to 30 April 2020 (with possible extension) and mandated SIBUR’s office employees to work from home. We are taking all necessary steps to prevent the spread of the infection and monitor the health of the production staff, having introduced toughened personal hygiene requirements and mandatory health check measures for each employee. The Company's offices and facilities have been provided with more disinfectants and air purifiers.

In these trying times, we cannot stand aside when there is a shortage of disposable personal protective equipment on the market. Today, our priority is the healthcare sector. SIBUR has increased its polypropylene supplies to partners that have maximised the output of materials for the production of medical gowns, masks, caps and plastic overshoes, as well as blood collection tubes, drips, blister packs, disinfectants and medical equipment. We are ready to further diversify polypropylene grades used in the medical industry.

I would like to reiterate that despite the current COVID-19 crisis, SIBUR is delivering on all of its contractual obligations. Remote work has not affected our operations as we maintain full control over production processes. We will continue to deliver the same high product quality and maintain efficient relations with our partners and suppliers.

During the quarantine and self-isolation, we will stay in touch with our clients and partners via audio- and video conferences as well as other digital channels. I can assure you that no face-to-face meetings will not affect our ability to provide the best possible support for all our clients and partners. Please feel free to contact your relationship manager at any time with any questions.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our partners, clients and suppliers for your understanding and continued cooperation.

If you have any questions, suggestions or opinions (including criticisms), do not hesitate to email them to dearcustomer@sibur.ru
