RSPP Indices Reveal Industry Leaders

At the end of 2018, SIBUR reaffirmed its position at the top of industry indices compiled by the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).

In 2018, SIBURranked as a top performer in the RSPP’s Responsibility and Transparency industrial index for the first time.

The RSPP has been compiling its corporate sustainability, responsibility and transparency indices since 2014 as a toolset for the assessment of business performance in sustainable development and social responsibility.

This year, the Company has reaffirmed its solid position: at the end of 2018, SIBUR was included in Group A alongside the 11 other companies which boast the highest individual index value. The Responsibility and Transparency index uses 70 different indicators to evaluate the degree of transparency in a company’s strategies for social responsibility and sustainable development, as well as the degree of information they disclose on social and environmental factors specific to their business.

SIBUR has also been recognised for its leadership in the Sustainable Development Vector index, which reflects the dynamics of a company's performance in sustainable development and corporate social responsibility.

“The index is created by reviewing non-financial public reports from Russia's 100 largest companies,” said Natalia Khonyakova, Head of the Corporate Sustainability, Responsibility and Transparency Indices Development Group.

“This year we have seen a marked rise in companies disclosing information on sustainability and corporate social responsibility. The quality standards for reporting are also improving. Despite the tougher competition for the top spot, SIBUR has managed to assert its leadership through active work in both areas”.

SIBUR is committed to protecting the environment and facilitating higher living standards.

“SIBUR implements effective, environment-friendly solutions which contribute to protecting the environment and facilitate higher living standards,” said Artur Bortsov, Corporate Communications Director at SIBUR.

“We strive to follow the best global practices to build a responsible and sustainable business. We hope that our efforts, which are aimed at improving corporate non-financial reporting and transparency, will help us to develop further dialogues with our stakeholders.”
