The new grades, developed with input from the Company’s R&D Centre NIOST, will be produced at the Tomsk and Tobolsk production sites.
PP H043 FF polypropylene grade is used to manufacture film thread, PP bags and big bags (Raffia segment). High processing speed is its key advantage, and the grade has already proved its value during testing and has been commended by the customers.
PP R015 BM, another new grade, is designed to be used in the manufacturing of healthcare products and is fully compliant with relevant EU requirements.
Since 2008, SIBUR's R&D Centre NIOST was involved in the development and production of over 30 polyolefin grades used in various segments such as nonwoven fabric, injection moulding, Raffia segment, BOPP films, thermoforming and others. The Company is taking proactive steps to select, test and launch phthalate-free catalysts to create new grades meeting consumer requirements. The transition of all Basic Polymers Division’s production lines to phthalate-free catalysts is now nearing its completion.
