AGCC construction is underway

With the readiness of the Amur Gas Chemical Complex nearing 40%, the project implementation strategy will be updated.

The overall readiness of the AGCC project has reached 37.8% (43% for certain plants). The project partners, SIBUR and Chinese oil and gas company Sinopec, pointed out the need to improve the project implementation strategy by adapting it to the new reality. Relevant decisions will be made soon. Project suspension is not being discussed; work is fully underway on the construction site in Svobodny.

In March, 1,658 tonnes of pyrolysis oven radiant sections and 726.7 tonnes of metalwork were assembled on the pyrolysis plant construction site; foundations are currently being laid for ramps, electric substations, compressor plants and auxiliary facilities

In the polymer plants construction area, a unit producing pipe shells for polyethylene conduits became operational, 18,449 piles were driven into the ground, 1.71 km of underground pipelines were built, concrete foundations for large-sized equipment are being poured and reinforced, metalwork assembly is being performed by 85 welders.

The AGCC infrastructure is growing alongside the production facilities: construction of offsite facilities is underway – 500 kW electric substations, a logistics center, permanent warehouse buildings, sewage treatment systems, etc. In residential compound No. 1, work is underway to build general utilities, masonry is 48% complete. In residential compound No. 2, the Below 0 monolithic frame has been finished, concrete frame insulation is in progress.

Despite still being under construction, the soon-to-be gas chemical complex is already making an important contribution to the development of the region. In March, AGCC participated in a number of environmental and social initiatives: the launch of PROGorod, a comprehensive entrepreneurial community development program, the Waste Recycling Week in which 1,200 contractor employees took part, the Waste Sorting campaign in the town of Svobodny, and the Clean Land program designed to minimize waste for underground disposal.
